For more than 30 years, IHI has been committed to helping grow and sustain a movement to improve health and health care for all. Working with the global IHI community, we motivate and build the will for change, identify and test innovative models of care, and ensure the broadest possible adoption of proven practices that improve individual and population health.

To accomplish this important work, we cannot — and do not — work alone. IHI engages willing partners through rich collaborative improvement initiatives. IHI initiatives are typically large in scale — months or years in duration, engaging diverse teams from across the health care community and the world to work collaboratively on a broad array of topics.

Individuals, organizations, and other conveners are invited to collaborate with IHI, and with each other, in networks designed to meet specific, unique needs as well as co-design around shared purpose and urgent health care issues.

IHI also continues to collaborate and expand our networks through multi-modal, multi-year direct consulting work with current as well as new partners. Leadership and participation in one or more IHI network are an important aspect of these long-term relationships and related consulting.

Building Local Improvement Capability

We empower and support local change agents to accelerate improvement in vital areas, including patient and workforce safety, health care workforce well-being and joy in work, health equity, maternal and infant health, end-of-life care, care and health for older adults, care and health for people with complex needs, care and health for people living with mental health and substance use disorders, waste and cost reduction, and the spread of the Triple Aim (better care, better health, and lower costs).
