Improving Workforce Well-Being
Five guiding principles help leaders improve mental health and well-being and reduce burnout among the health care workforce.

This article describes five guiding principles for improving health care workforce well-being that emerged from a multiyear initiative that sought to implement evidence-based strategies to significantly reduce workforce burnout, suicide, and other mental health conditions. These principles serve as a guide for leaders at any level of a health care organization to design, implement, and evaluate programs and initiatives that aim to harness and support an organization’s most important resource — its people.
