Equity and Quality: Improving Health Care Delivery Requires Both

This article describes how the health system can use the existing infrastructure developed to measure, monitor, improve, and incentivize quality to build a more equitable health system by focusing on data, leadership and governance, and payment.

Dzau VJ, Mate K, O’Kane M. Equity and quality: Improving health care delivery requires both. JAMA. 2022;327(6):519-520.

This article describes how the existing infrastructure developed to measure, monitor, improve, and incentivize quality can also be used to build a more equitable health system by focusing on data, leadership and governance, and payment.
