This form is used by the Medical Emergency Team (MET) nurse to debrief with the floor nurse after each MET event. The MET nurse contacts the floor nurse and provides an update if the patient was transferred, or inquire how the patient and nurse are doing if the patient remained on the floor.
The debriefing form creates an opportunity to strengthen the relationships between Critical Care and Medical-Surgical nurses, to educate the floor nurses by debriefing the event and the circumstances that led up to the MET activation, and to identify opportunities to improve the MET process.
