The purpose of this IHI 90-day R&D project is to assist academic medical centers (AMCs) and graduate medical education (GME) programs to become aligned and capable in quality and safety programming. The project focused on a comprehensive, multifaceted scan that included an extensive literature review, expert interviews, a site visit, and a review of GME quality and safety curricula, all of which informed the development of a driver diagram and logic model.
