This article presents five concrete actions health care leaders can take to make health equity a core strategy at their organizations. The actions are distilled from IHI’s study of 23 health systems in the US and Canada that have taken a comprehensive approach to improving health equity, as described in more detail in the IHI White Paper, Achieving Health Equity: A Guide for Health Care Organizations.
