Subscription Overview
To optimize learning, the IHI Open School offers an annual subscription to access our catalog of virtual courses in the areas of Quality Improvement, Patient Safety, Triple Aim for Populations, Leadership, Person and Family-Centered Care, and Graduate Medical Education.
Open School subscription plans are used worldwide by more than 490,000 learners in hospitals and health systems, colleges and universities, government agencies, and for-profit and not-for-profit organizations to strengthen skills for employees in the areas of patient safety, quality improvement, triple aim for populations, equity, and leadership.
Benefits of the IHI Open School Subscription
- Access to the full library of virtual courses in quality, safety, population health, equity, health care leadership, person– and family-centered care, and leadership, as well as support for graduate medical education (GME).
- Obtain our Basic Certificate in Quality and Safety, in a total of 17.75 hours that includes the introduction to quality, safety population health, equity, health care leadership, and person – and family-centered care.
- Earn Continuing Education (CE) credits with our accreditation from American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), and the National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ) to provide continuing education for the health care team. This annual subscription provides personal access to more than 30 courses across Quality Improvement, Patient Safety, Leadership, Person-and-Family Centered Care, Triple Aim for Populations, and Graduate Medical Education. For course titles, review the curriculum.

Patient Safety Catalog Only - $249*
This annual subscription provides personal access to the Patient Safety Catalog, consisting of 8 courses in the topic area of Patient Safety.
Courses include PS 101: Introduction to Patient Safety, PS 102: From Error to Harm, PS 103: Human Factors and Safety, PS 104: Teamwork and Communication, PS 105: Responding to Adverse Events, PS 201: Root Cause Analyses and Actions, PS 202: Achieving Total Systems Safety, and PS 203: Pursuing Professional Accountability and a Just Culture.

Free Courses for Eligible Participants
IHI offers FREE access to Open School courses to students, residents, faculty*, and inhabitants of the Least Developed Countries**. Eligible participants can register on ihi.org and visit IHI's Virtual Education Platform to begin learning.
*We define "faculty" as someone whose primary job is as a professor, teacher, or dean and who is currently teaching or interested in teaching others about the science of improvement.
