Practical Improvement Science in Health Care: A Roadmap for Getting Results

​A Free Massive Online Open Course

The Institute Healthcare Institute (IHI) and HarvardX — Harvard University’s branch of the online learning venture edX — have collaborated to produce a free massive open online course (MOOC) on improvement science in health and health care.

The course, Practical Improvement Science in Health Care: A Roadmap for Getting Results, starts on April 18, 2018 and lasts for seven weeks. Each week, learners will dive into engaging, interactive materials and relevant resources to start building an improvement toolkit that will serve them long after the seven-week course ends.

Continuing Education

In support of improving patient care, the IHI is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

This course has been approved for a maximum of 7 credits for physicians, pharmacists, and nurses.

In order to be eligible for a continuing education certificate, attendees must complete the online evaluation within 30 days of the continuing education activity. After this period, you will be unable to receive a certificate.
