Rooming Criteria Example

Standardizing the process for rooming patients by diagnosis (e.g., shoes off for patients with diabetes) increases efficiency and decreases variation in completion of necessary information and steps. Patients don't necessarily need to be undressed to be ready for the visit, but knowing what would help the patient be ready for a more efficient visit with the provider would lead to smoother flow.
Download the tool. Review the example, then compare it with your current practice's rooming process. Once you have identified the variations, make changes to your rooming process to provide smoother flow for patients and increased efficiency.
