IHI Open School Certificates of Completion and Continuing Education

The IHI Open School offers a basic certificate of completion for users who want formal recognition for their participation. Earning a certificate boosts your own skills — and proves to employers that you’re serious about changing the system for the better.

To receive a basic certificate, you must complete the following online courses:
· Quality Improvement 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, 106
· Patient Safety 100, 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, 106
· Leadership 101
· Patient- and Family-Centered Care 101
· Managing Health Care Operations 101

Once you finish the required courses, please visit the My Certificates Page to generate your printable IHI Open School Basic Certificate of Completion. This page will tell you if you still need to complete courses.

The requirements for the basic certificate will grow over time, but you’ll only need to complete the requirements listed at the time you earn the certificate.

Finally, we’re planning to develop an advanced certificate of completion for users who want to take their skills to the next level. Stay tuned!

Continuing Education
IHI offers continuing education contact hours for completion of the IHI Open School online courses. Currently, 22.50 contact hours for nurses, physicians, and pharmacists are available. We will add more courses and contact hours in early 2012.

Continuing education certificates that you are eligible to print can be generated on the My Certificates Page.
