The concept of CQI is needed in all professions. The medical profession has to change continuously to improve. As things stand today doctors neither have the inclination nor time to learn new developments in their respective specialities. The craze is to make more and more money in less and less time. Then they have the task of protecting themselves from litigation which I think is not a problem if you are current in your knowledge and do the right thing. However doing the right thing is becoming rare.
