Read Safety briefing report with interest. However pre and post safety evaluation forms relate to medication errors only. Is there a similar form for surgical briefings that we can use in the perioperative stream of Scottish Patient Safety alliance.

In the US, most hospitals already have a pre-operative checklist and so have simply incorporated the pre-op briefing into that. This works well because there is no need for an additional form.
The reason that the forms you see here are about medication errors only is because when we tested these type of briefings on patient care units, our focus was on medication safety. The questions could easily be modified to go beyond medications.
