Has someone initiatived a screening tool for patients pre-operatively for glucose control? We don't feel everyone needs this test done pre but certainly there are some patient populations at risk?

Does anyone know of a glucose meter that is accurate no matter what the HCt? Our patients with Hcts below 25 are having to get frequent lab draws for glucose control.
