Kim, I wondered about this same issue. I did a brief search and found very little evidence of PICC infection vs. subclabvian or jugular central lines. It seems likely that rates would be lower, but there is not much research on this. Have you found anything since your original post here?

I noticed the check list recommended does not include optimal site selection as part of your checklist for central line placement with room for appropriate contraindications (e.g., bleeding risks). How have other hospitals addressed this intervention?
