About Us
Ask the Expert: Hosted by Mark Murray, MD, MPA
For the most part, an access to care issue is not a "deprivation of care" issue but a "delay of care" issue. Delays plague our health care systems, leading to dissatisfaction among patients, providers and staff, increased cost of care, sub-optimized revenues, and an adverse effect on clinical outcomes. Organizations can use a set of principles (changes) and a proven process to successfully reduce waits and delays. To make the changes that are necessary to get different results requires "seeing" differently and then "doing" differently. Every day, all day long, one patient at a time, we are matching the demand for care with the supply of care. We can do that well or do it poorly.
