CPPS Examination

The CPPS examination is a computer-based test offered throughout the year at AMP Assessment Centers located domestically in the United States and internationally. The examination is administered by appointment only. Available dates will be indicated when you schedule your examination. Candidates are scheduled on a first-come-first-served basis. Candidates will be given two hours to complete the examination.

As part of regular exam maintenance, the Certification Board for Professionals in Patient Safety (CBPPS) will be releasing a revised exam on November 1, 2019. All exams administered after October 31, 2019 will be based on the revised content outline. Both the current and revised content outlines can be viewed online. Candidates testing from November 1 – 16, 2019 will experience delayed scoring as our testing partner, PSI, reviews responses and reapproves the passing point of the exam. This process is a best practice for professional credentialing programs and helps maintain the integrity of the exam. We appreciate your understanding. If you have questions, please reach out to us at cpps@ihi.org
