It’s the end of business as usual in health care purchasing and pricing.
 
Soon, bundled care and bundled payments — or value-based purchasing — will become the norm for health care delivery and reimbursement. Making the move to this approach can lead to a number of advantages for health care organizations, from reducing unnecessary costs to encouraging patient-centered care. But it can also pose operational challenges — including complexities around implementation, redesigning care teams, managing multiple stakeholders, and more.
 
To guide organizations through this period of flux, the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) offers a new web series designed to help health care providers make a successful transition to a value-based care system.
 
The Preparing Care Teams for Bundled Payments six-part IHI Expedition offers participants the unique opportunity to draw upon the deep expertise and insights of IHI faculty and learn from real-world examples. Ideally suited to finance teams, nurse leaders, quality managers and front-line clinical teams, this results-driven program will take you step by step through the transition to value-based care, helping you:

  • Learn about an activity-based cost accounting methodology and how to apply it to a care process
  • Demonstrate how to engage stakeholders in building a care bundle
  • Customize care team redesign to deliver optimum care in a value-based purchasing contract
