Session Details

It’s hard to think of a more galvanizing principle for health care right now than the Triple Aim. In the US especially, the concept of better health, better health care, and lower per capita costs, is now bedrock for several new national policy initiatives. And everywhere you turn, the discussion centers on how to get ready for a truly different health care world with respect to payment (value over volume) and responsibility for patients across an entire journey, not just one “billable” piece.

Whether your focus is global payments, Accountable Care Organizations, the medical home, employee health, or creating coalitions to improve a community’s health, the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), which pioneered the Triple Aim concept, change strategies, and system measures, can help you master the basics and map your strategy so it’s aligned with the Triple Aim.

In this two-day seminar, IHI Triple Aim: From Real-World Learning to an Achievable Plan, you’ll hear directly from senior leaders who have used IHI’s Triple Aim to improve health and lower costs in their communities. You’ll develop a portfolio of projects tailored to the population you serve. And you’ll learn how to partner effectively with local organizations to transform care.

IHI’s Triple Aim is a framework for partnering with local government agencies, social service organizations, health plans, faith groups, and other community stakeholders to achieve three powerful goals simultaneously:
  • Reducing the cost of care
  • Improving the patient experience
  • Boosting the overall health of the population you serve

This program is ideal for change agents in health-related organizations who are responsible for developing strategy, delivering front-line care, or crafting policy for a specific population.

With $1 billion in federal funding now available to US organizations that can achieve better care, better health, and reduced cost, this seminar will give you the tools you need to make a successful start on the Triple Aim.

Who Should Attend

The IHI Triple Aim seminar is ideal for individuals working in the following types of organizations:

  • Integrated delivery systems
  • Government agencies and state initiatives
  • Health plans
  • Social service organizations
  • Employer-based health systems
  • Business groups on health
  • Safety net health care organizations
  • Other organizations with the will and capability to fulfill the IHI Triple Aim

Past attendees have included senior leaders, vice presidents or directors responsible for organizational strategy, front-line delivery of care, or the health care policy for a defined population that can be identified and tracked over time.

Teams of three to five people, from an organization or region, are encouraged to attend. Individuals are welcome, although experience has shown that Triple Aim implementation is dependent on the collaborative effort of leaders and strong program involvement.
