Transformation continues to roil health care. Reform is increasing pressure on health care organizations to improve quality while they reduce costs, which is catalyzing a new set of interactions between providers, patients, and payers. At the same time, inefficiencies in existing systems are causing a host of problems for providers and patients alike. In order to thrive in this altered environment, organizations constantly need to develop and test new and creative ideas to find a better way of providing care.

To help your organization meet this challenge, the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) is offering The Innovation Manager Development Program. You will work closely with expert faculty and peers during a two-day meeting to learn how to develop a reliable system and structure for innovation within your organization.

Many health care delivery systems are setting up their own innovation management systems to support the reliable implementation of innovation, and others are increasingly seeking to seize the opportunity to stay ahead of the curve. You can learn from their experience and break down the myriad challenges in this endeavor, including how to manage the innovation function over time so that it is pragmatic and productive; make certain that the innovation function grows appropriately within your organization; and ensure reliability in the process.
