Evaluations and Continuing Education 

In support of improving patient care, the Institute for Healthcare Improvement is accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

The International Summit carries a maximum of 16.75 credits.

During this program, attendees will be able to:
  • Identify cutting-edge ideas that are ready for immediate application to your practice
  • Apply new ways to engage patients, families, and communities in redesigning and delivering optimal care
  • Network with colleagues to generate ideas and build supportive relationships
  • Explore ways to build healthier communities and provide superior care to patients while containing or reducing costs


How to Get a Certificate of Credit


Participants of the International Summit can earn contact hours by completing a brief evaluation before  a certificate for continuing education credits can be issued. To access the evaluations, visit:


In order to be eligible for a continuing education certificate, participants must complete the online  evaluation within 30 days of the continuing education activity. If circumstances prevent you from completing the survey by the specified deadline, please email before this period expires. After this time period, you will be unable to receive a certificate.
If you attended the Summit and wish to receive continuing education units, please log in and go to MyIHI at the top right. From the left-hand menu, choose “My Enrollments and Certificates.” In the My Enrollments box, you will see this session listed and you will be able to click on links just below the session title, including Evaluation & Continuing Education. 

 American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) Credit Hours

​This live activity, (12th Annual International Summit on Improving Patient Care in the Office Practice & the Community), has been reviewed and is acceptable for up to 16.75 prescribed credits by the American Academy of Family Physicians. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

 Credit Information

All International Summit Learning Labs, Minicourses, and General Conference sessions offer ANCC, ACPE, ACCME, and AAFP credits except for the following sessions, which offer ANCC, ACCME, and AAFP credits only:

M2, M6, LL6, LL8, A1, B1, A8/B8, A9/B9, A11/B11, C1, C5, C6, D1, E1, D3/E3, D4/E4, D5/E5, D10/E10, and All Rapid-Fire Workshops.
