Scholarships and Special Discounts

IHI is pleased to offer a limited amount of funding for scholarships and special discounts. Scholarships and special discounts are available to assist with program enrollment costs only, and are not applicable for travel, food, or accommodation costs associated with attending the program.

Special Discount

We offer a limited amount of scholarships that discount 25% to 50% of the General Conference for employees of:

  • Independent, United States Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) that are not affiliated with a hospital or health system
  • Critical Access Hospitals
  • Members of America's Essential Hospitals (formerly NAPH)

 

Academic Scholarship

The IHI National Forum has a number of scholarships available for the conference on December 10–11. These scholarships are not available for the Pre-Conference, taking place December 8–9. Scholarships include:

  • 75% scholarship for full-time students
  • 50% scholarship for part-time students (2 classes or more)
  • 50% scholarship for residents
  • 50% scholarship for full-time faculty and deans

Patient and Family Advisor Scholarship

This scholarship is available to patient or family members of patients who contribute to person-and family-centered care, with an interest in bringing their perspective to the enhancement of content of the IHI National Forum.

Justin Micalizzi Memorial IHI Scholarship

Justin’s HOPE Project and IHI are extremely proud to announce the Justin Micalizzi Memorial IHI Scholarship in loving memory of Justin A. Micalizzi who died at the age of 11 due to a medical error.  Learning from this devastating loss ― and making a difference that will improve pediatric health care ― has become a quest for Justin’s family.

Justin's HOPE project will award scholarships to health caregivers who are committed to pediatric patient safety and providing a safe health care environment for their patients and families.

Annette J. Bartley Memorial Scholarship

Annette J. Bartley was a nurse and health care improvement coach for more than 30 years, which included several leadership roles in frontline clinical care and management. A beloved member of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) community, Annette died in November 2016, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and optimism.

 
IHI will award the Annette J. Bartley Memorial Scholarship annually to one nursing professional who demonstrates a strong interest in health care improvement. The scholarship will cover the cost of General Conference fees for IHI’s National Annual National Forum on Quality Improvement in Health Care.

Additional Meeting Details

Meals
Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday meeting days. Participants will be responsible for their own dinners.

Dress Code
Please dress business casual. You may wish to bring a sweater or jacket since the meeting rooms are cold at times.​​

Payment Details

  • ​Payments: Full payment is due before the start of the program. If payment in full is not received within one day prior to the program start date, IHI will notify you and cancel your registration.
    • Credit card payments: Enter your credit card information online during the registration process, or contact the IHI Customer Experience Department to process payment over the phone.
    • Check payments: Please mail a copy of the invoice with your check made payable to IHI.
  • Cancelations: For cancelations made within one day before the start of the program: Registration fees are fully refundable if a written request is received by info@ihi.org on or before one day before the start of the program.
  • Refunds: IHI will issue all refunds in the original payment type (credit card or check) within 30 days. Registrations received one day before the start of the program are not refundable.
  • Substitutions: One attendee may be substituted for another at any time by calling the IHI Customer Experience Department or emailing info@ihi.org​.

If for any reason you are not completely satisfied that your attendance in an IHI educational program is a valuable experience, IHI will gladly refund your registration fee per the policies noted above. Please note that due to unforeseeable circumstances, last-minute changes in program titles, speakers, or presentations may be unavoidable.
