​​ JointAccreditationLogo.jpgIn support of improving patient care, the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the health care team. 

Accreditation for the IHI Forum 2021 will be approved in Fall 2021. Below you can find the continuing education (CE) information for the IHI Forum 2020 On Demand.

As a result of this program, attendees will be able to:

  • Recognize habits that support quality health care and apply the basic principles for improving them
  • Define ways to reduce suffering and improve health
  •  Develop an understanding of how to transform an organization
  • Identify elements for creating a culture of change that will lead to continuous improvement


IHI Forum 2020 On Demand Approved Credits

The IHI Forum 2020 On Demand carries continuing education credit for physicians, nurses, pharmacists, quality professionals, healthcare executives, and CPPS recertification. Maximum credits available vary by profession. The totals listed below are inclusive of the Scientific Symposium.
  • AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™
    The Institute for Healthcare Improvement designates this internet live activity  for a maximum of 78.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
  • Nurses
    Nurses can claim a maximum of 44.5 credits. Nurses should claim only the credit commensurate with the  extent of their participation in the activity.
  • Pharmacists
    Pharmacists can claim a maximum of 59.5 credits. Pharmacists should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
  • CPHQ Continuing Education Hours
    This program has been approved by the National Association for Healthcare Quality for 96.5 CPHQ continuing education hours.
  •  Healthcare Executives
    By viewing 2020 Forum On Demand sessions, participants may earn up to 96.5 ACHE Qualified Education Hours toward initial certification or recertification of the Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) designation.
  • CPPS: Certified Professional in Patient Safety
    A total of 73 contact hours is available toward the fulfillment of the requirements of CPPS recertification.

To be eligible for a continuing education certificate, attendees must complete the online evaluation(s) by February 4, 2022. After this period, you will be unable to receive a certificate.
