Calls for Proposals

Storyboard Proposals

Unfortunately, the deadline for submitting storyboard proposals has passed. Each year, we accept storyboard proposals from April through the end of September. The storyboard application is typically posted by April 1. To access the storyboard handbook, please click here.

Please join us at the National Forum on Tuesday evening, December 11, from
4:30 PM - 6:30 PM for the Storyboard Reception in Cypress 1. This is an opportunity to review all the storyboards and network and interact with storyboard presenters. All are welcome to attend this reception, even if you do not have a storyboard on display.

Students
If you are a student or medical resident, please click here for more information about submitting a storyboard. The deadline for students and residents to submit a storyboard proposal is Friday, November 16th.

If you have any questions regarding storyboard proposals, please email Lauren Showalter at lshowalter@IHI.org.

18th Annual Scientific Symposium Call for Abstracts

Again this year, IHI is working with the Academy for Healthcare Improvement (AHI) to design this year's Scientific Symposium. The Scientific Symposium will take place on Monday, December 10. AHI is now accepting abstract proposals on their website.

For any questions about the Scientific Symposium, please contact Allison Rentfro via email at rentfroa@health.missouri.edu or phone at (573) 882-4106.

The Scientific Symposium features rapid-fire presentations of peer-reviewed papers, with an afternoon poster session. The focus is on advances in improvement research in health services delivery and health professions education.

This program will conclude with a presentation from Mary Dixon-Wood, BA, DipStat, MSc, DPhil, Department of Health Sciences, School of Medicine, University of Leicester, UK. Professor Dixon-Woods’ presentation is entitled “Improving Improvement Science."

Abstracts will be competitively selected through peer-review. Prior presentations are available at http://a4hi.org.

The goals of the Symposium are:

• To encourage, accelerate, and improve the science of continuous improvement in health care and health professions education.
• To provide a forum in which investigators from around the world can introduce new work for peer review and discussion.

Speaker Proposals
The speaker proposal deadline was February 29, 2012. Unfortunately, late applications cannot be accepted. Applicants should expect to hear back on the status of their submission by early July 2012.
