Are you ready for Change?

Barriers are always there. Some are just trivial or annoying and are some immense. Not enough resources? Disengaged staff? Fear and timidity? Inadequate information and know-how? No matter their size, they can get more intractable.

The first step to removing the barriers that really hinder progress at your organization is to see them, and not just on the horizon. Understanding obstacles from your own perspective and that of the people facing them day to day is the key to banishing them. Ask yourself these questions:
  • What is stopping your people from delivering efficient and patient-centered care?
  • What is the biggest impediment to containing costs in your system?
  • What can your leadership team do to roll away the barriers in time to keep up with the changing environment?
This spring, the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) is convening leaders from health systems, hospitals, health insurance plans, and government agencies to make sure you can answer all of these questions and use new strategies to make progress in your organization.

Join us at the 2017 IHI Change Conference in San Francisco, CA, on March 6–7, 2017. We’re taking the lessons from the first three years of the IHI Leadership Alliance, IHI’s High-Impact Leadership framework, and IHI’s disciplined process for rapid improvement, and distilling them down to their essential elements to share with you over the course of two days. Prominent voices in health care who have perspectives on what has worked to remove the barriers, break the rules, and share the power in your organization to make transformational progress.

The designers of the Change Conference have created an intensive agenda with high-level plenaries, TED Talk-style keynotes and panel discussions, and groups of breakout sessions and exercises that have been created for board members, C-suite executives, and clinical leaders.

Uniquely, the Change Conference provides an environment in which you can learn with your colleagues and with other high-performing leaders and leadership teams.
The vision for the Change Conference is that:

1. All teach
2. All learn
3. All lead
During the conference, you’ll learn new mental models and new approaches with your team. You’ll be able to share with each other what you’ve each taken away from the unique breakouts, so you can solidify the design of new initiatives together, and you’ll bring home new leadership tools that will help you make an immediate impact at your organization.

  • Adopt new mental models that allow you to see barriers in a new, solvable way
  • Set Priorities for action and focus on only the solutions that have the highest leverage
  • Learn how to build effective leadership through your organization so that anyone can remove barriers
  • Select tools and techniques to increase agility and the pace of needed changes

You will experience highly interactive sessions with experts who have been where you are now. Experienced faculty will share what they’ve learned about improving patient experience, reducing costs of care, and population health management. This program will equip you with the necessary tools and knowledge to take your leadership system and your organization to a higher level.

This conference is ideal for leaders and their core teams within the same organization. We offer specific tracks for:

  • Board members
  • C-suite executives
  • Clinical leaders and directors
  • Emerging leaders and managers
Individual attendees will have the opportunity to network with and learn from colleagues from similar organizations, those with common challenges, and those who have found creative solutions to getting past barriers.
