Zero tolerance for patient falls sounds like a worthwhile goal. But is it possible to eliminate all falls? Pat Quigley, Associate Director of the VA Sunshine Healthcare Network (VISN 8) Patient Safety Center of Inquiry, argues that it's better for patients to prevent injuries from falls — rather than trying in vain to prevent every fall.
