The Picker Institute
Camden,
Maine,
USA
This series of six case study reports documents how academic medical centers can achieve high levels of patient- and family-centered care. Each profile provides real-world, operational examples of how core elements of patient- and family-centered care are brought to life in practice. A separate summary analysis of key elements contributing to patient- and family-centered care across all six centers is also available.
Background
The case study series was researched and written by Principal Investigator Dale Shaller, MPA, principal of Shaller Consulting, a health policy analysis and management consulting practice; and the late Charles Darby, an independent consultant who assisted organizations with the implementation and use of the CAHPS® suite of patient-experience surveys.
