This training manual was developed to help health centers, clinics, and hospitals improve the care of people with HIV/AIDS disease. In addition to describing three models that may be used to improve care, the manual also contains specific changes, resources, and tools for HIV/AIDS disease and depression.
Background
This manual is the culmination of a four-year initiative between the Health Resources and Services Administration HIV/AIDS Bureau (HAB) and the Institute for Healthcare Improvement to establish a quality improvement framework for Ryan White grantees. More than 80 health centers, clinics, and hospitals worked together as part of the HAB Collaboratives to improve care for people living with HIV/AIDS disease. This manual, published in April 2002, gathers the best of what these health centers learned thus far about improving HIV/AIDS care and related chronic illness.
