The Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) is a multidiscplinary membership organization whose goal is to ensure excellence and consistency in the practice of critical care medicine, representing all components on the critical care team. SCCM has published admission, discharge, and triage criteria for adult and pediatric intensive care units and step down units.
