In July 2006, IHI hosted a meeting of partners from across South Africa and Malawi to discuss their improvement experiences in a variety of health settings. As part of the shared learning, each team presented their work on HIV/AIDS. Following these reports, Dr. Donald Berwick, IHI's President and CEO, provided a synthesis of the work, highlighting successes and proposing bold steps forward.
