Make Sure the Senior Leader Actively Supports the Improvement Effort by Removing Barriers and Providing Necessary Resources
- Have the senior leader attend team meetings. If the senior leader cannot attend a team meeting, he or she should call the team after the meeting to ask, "What do I need to do?"
- Give the senior leader regular reports and feedback to gain interest.
- Involve the senior leader in marketing the asthma effort.
- Have the senior leader help identify the most enthusiastic and respected clinician to be on the improvement team and test changes in his/her practice.
