Overall aim of this program:

To build engagement and provide skills and tools for 'Trustees', Quality Committee Chairs, Board members, and senior executives to use in improving quality and safety efforts throughout their organizations.

Objectives of this program:

Individual Board members attending the program will strengthen their engagement and commitment to quality and safety
Participants will learn tools for how to “spread” the engagement to their entire Board
Participants will learn specific skills and tools to improve their Board’s ability to oversee quality and safety.

The Institute for Healthcare Improvement is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The Institute for Healthcare Improvement takes responsibility for the content, quality, and scientific integrity of this CME activity.

IHI designates this educational activity for a maximum of 13.42 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)^TM. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

The Institute for Healthcare Improvement is approved as a provider of continuing education in nursing by the Massachusetts Association of Registered Nurses which is accredited as an approver of continuing education in nursing by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. This continuing education activity carries 13.25 contact hours.

The California Board of Registered Nursing recognizes Category 1 Continuing Medical Education credits, and California nurses can use participation at these events, which are approved for CME Category 1 Credits, towards their license renewal, regardless of whether or not they were held on California soil.
