This one-day workshop is being offered to teams participating in IHI's Breakthrough Series Collaboratives.
Team effectiveness is a characteristic of all successful improvement teams. Improvement requires change, and high-performing teams know how to work effectively together to create the change needed as quickly as possible.
Bringing a group of people together—no matter how committed they are to the systems changes needed—requires change on the part of the individuals as well. What makes a group of people become a team? What is required of each member of that group to transform into a high-performing team member?
Jump start your group into becoming a team by attending a one-day workshop on Building Effective Teams, offered prior to the first Learning Session.
Participants in this workshop will:
1. Learn the importance of teamwork to improvement projects
2. Begin the team-building process
3. Practice methods to organize and run a team
4. Practice methods to improve team performance
Consider sending your group to this workshop if:
- The group is made up of a cross-section of your work processes, which have never directly worked together.
- The team leader has excellent content knowledge but has not led a improvement team.
- Team development skills are not routinely offered or readily available to the team in your organization.
- The group works together routinely and you want to invest in getting the team off to a great start to ensure they take full advantage of the Collaborative to achieve breakthrough performance.
