  Overview

The inconsistent application of evidence-based care is a national problem, recognized by multiple organizations including the National Quality Forum, the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, the American Hospital Association and the Leapfrog Group, all of which have identified indicators based on evidence-based care.

This one-day seminar will provide an overview of the key concepts of reliability science and share how organizations working with IHI’s IMPACT network are applying these concepts to clinical processes such as acute myocardial infarction and congestive heart failure.

Participants will learn how to begin testing changes in their own organizations to improve outcomes in clinical processes such as coronary artery bypass grafting, congestive heart failure, community-acquired pneumonia, and hip and knee replacement.

Patient Safety: First Do No Harm...Now What?! Conference

The Increasing the Reliable Delivery of Care Minicourse is being held in conjunction with the Queen's Medical Center's patient safety conference.

The conference, designed in partnership with IHI, promises to deliver practical tools and strategies that demonstrate an impact on improved levels of patient safety.

Poster Presentations Invited

The poster session is intended to highlight changes that have improved patient safety across all areas of health care or demonstrated reductions in risk or harm, with the hope that others may implement similiar culture changes and accelerate the pace of safety improvements.

For more information about submitting a poster, contact (808) 547-4406.  Deadline for submissions is January 7, 2005.
