  Overview
The Forum for Improving Children’s Health Care is the centerpiece of NICHQ’s efforts to improve the health care of America’s children. In just four short years, this event has already become THE major national meeting to catalyze change in all parts of the health care system for children. This year’s Forum is expected to draw over 500 attendees from all the critical stakeholder groups that are needed to make a difference in healthcare for children—physician and nurse executives, medical and quality improvement directors, managed care and public health professionals, child and family advocates, parents of children with special health care needs, and leaders from state and federal government. The theme of this year’s Forum is Leaps and Bounds: Transforming Health Care for All Children, and it includes specific focus on issues of reducing health disparities, transforming systems of care to improve quality, clinical innovations, organizational leadership, mobilizing efforts for change through advocacy and policy innovations, the role of information technology in improving care for children and families, sustaining and spreading improvement, and more. The Forum begins with Pre-Conference Exploratoriums on February 28, 2005 and the General Conference on March 1 – 2, 2005 at the Loews Coronado Bay Resort in San Diego, California.
