Austin Hospital in Heidelberg, Victoria, Australia, achieved a 65 percent drop in cardiac arrests and a 37 percent reduction in mortality after introducing Rapid Response Teams.
Baptist Memorial Hospital, Memphis, TN, has experienced a 28 percent drop in codes. In addition, a higher percentage of all codes now occur in the ICU. Floor nurses report that they are now more confident in their ability “to rescue patients before they get into serious trouble.”
